Author Tally Adams talks “Shadow Pact”

Suspense Magazine Blog Post

Shadow Pact has fallen under the genre of paranormal romance, though I prefer the urban fantasy label because of preconceived notions regarding romance. While the central focus of Shadow Pact is the developing relationship between the two main characters, it encompasses so much more.

Emily’s sister has gone missing, and, as her only remaining family, Emily is determined to rescue her at all costs. With the help of a private investigator who suddenly disappeared, Emily tracks her to the most unlikely of places; a werewolf den.

William has spent his entire life in bondage because he is the abomination of the immortal world; a chance hybrid of two warring species. Since childhood, he has been forced to execute his own kind and follow the dictates of the immortal government. He is feared by humans and immortals alike; left with no place to belong in either world.

Nothing could have prepared William for the reaction he has to the small dark-haired beauty held captive by the local werewolf pact. But for her, he will break all the rules and risk everything. Together, they discover the corruption in the immortal government and set on an adventure that will change the world forever.

The underlying theme in Shadow Pact is that, sometimes, the most unlikely person can become the hero. When people who are vastly different find ways to stand together, nothing can stop the power of true unity. Many interesting characters are introduced in Shadow Pact, and while the relationship between Emily and William is the center theme, other relationships develop through the book that gives us a new way to look at finding common ground.

Myths and legends from all over history are incorporated into Shadow Pact to build the immortal world. However, it’s the relationship that develops between all the characters that makes Shadow Pact such a powerful entrance into the Immortal Romance Series. Paoli offers a terrific comic relief, and Sekhmet and Empusa arrive just in time to keep things interesting as both werewolves and vampires find a way to share blood bonds to create a pack like no other.

No romance is complete without its fair share of steamy passion and sexual tension, and Shadow Pact delivers both. Get ready for a wild ride into the shadows of the world around us and follow this amazing group as they struggle to change the world.

Tally Adams lives in Texas with her husband and four children (and one big, fat English bulldog). She’s been writing all her life, realizing at a young age the characters just swirl around maddeningly in her head if she doesn’t put them on paper. She began participating in adult writing competitions before she even hit her teens. Years later, she worked as a nurse and continued to write. Finally, she decided to move forward into the world of publication and share her imaginary friends with the world.
