Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, United States of America, October 18, 2011 -- The debut novel of author Carl Alves, Two For Eternity, is scheduled for its national release on Tuesday, November 1st, 2011. Two For Eternity will be available for sale at bookstores throughout the country, as well as Amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com, and other online retailers.
Carl Alves’ debut novel is both an historical and contemporary fantasy thriller that that takes many controversial interpretations of history. The novel follows two immortal characters, Raiken and Vrag from the beginning of mankind to modern day using many historical settings as a backdrop. Vrag pulls the strings of malevolent leaders, and causes endless destruction and chaos. Raiken is humanity’s defender against his immortal enemy. The novel spans human history from ancient Egypt and Babylon, through the time of Christ in Judea, spanning the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, and World War II.
“When writing this novel, I wanted to put a different spin on historical events from what you might read in text books,” Alves said. “There’s a saying that he who wins the war writes the history, and the true story of what happened doesn’t always get told. My novel offers a different perspective on certain historical events.”
Linda Thompson, the host of The Authors Show said, “This novel is a dream come true for lovers of time travel. Spanning the centuries from before the Pharaohs of Egypt to current day, this fascinating book captures the imagination from the first page and holds it through to the very end. There's never a dull moment and author, Carl Alves, is a master at weaving in and out of history. Alves has woven mystery, romance, and some sci-fi into this work with remarkable skill. Anyone who loves a thrilling read won't want to miss Two for Eternity.”
According to author Scott Nicholson, the novel is "A satisfying blend of fantasy, thriller, and historical fiction. Alves has carved out his own new genre."
